The Seven Hats

Every business has seven hats. Which one are you wearing today?

When your business is small, you're wearing every hat yourself. The catch is you can only wear one at a time. Based on the Seven Hats framework from Daimien Patterson's The Business Mastery System, this is your daily reminder to consciously choose your hat, focus on that role, and work towards handing it to someone else. Because you're wearing all those hats until someone else is.

1. General Manager: The boss. Provides the leadership, sets the standards and targets, and holds every department accountable.
2. Marketing Manager: Tells the market you exist. One-to-many communication that builds your brand and gets people through the door.
3. Sales Manager: Turns leads into paying customers. One-to-one, personal, and focused on solving the customer's problem.
4. Operations Manager: Delivers what's been sold. The technical expert on what your business actually does.
5. Training Manager: Teaches everyone how to do their job, your way, and makes sure they've actually learned it.
6. Admin Manager: Looks after the money, stock, leasing, HR and everything else that keeps the wheels turning.
7. Housekeeper: Takes care of the household chores, because once you're running a business, your time is too valuable to spend on them.
